The titles provide a rough guide to the subject of the prints found in each gallery.

My prints are made primarily by intaglio techniques in which the image for the print is incised into the surface of a hard plate. An etching press is used to transfer ink, rubbed into these lines, to paper.

Copper etchings are made from a metal plate into which an image is cut (etched) by using acid, including aquatint for tone and shading. Solar plate etchings rely on light to carve a drawing into a polymeric film. For drypoint prints, the image is scratched into the surface of the plate with sharp tools. Chine-collé describes the process of printing an image on thin translucent paper and simultaneously adhering it to a second heavier sheet of paper.
