Summer Remains
Solar Plate Etcing with Chine Collé
5" x 7"
Cone flowers (Echinacea purpurea) feed butterflies with nectar and, later, birds with seeds as the summer wanes. Here the skeletal remains of these flowers provide a reminder of August afternoons.

The golden background comes from printing the image of these remains on handmade gampi while simultaneously adhering this thin translucent paper to a heavier cotton paper in a process known as chine collé. Edition of 10.
